How it all started

During COVID, our hands were cracked and irritated from constant sanitising. So we formulated a natural soap recipe using the saponification method, and experimented with different recipes until we settled on the best ones, through trials with family and friends. Before we knew it, those small kitchen experiments became Nilyda.

Why “Nilyda”?

Nilyda is built from Nile, the river every Egyptian story begins with. Our gold lotus is the sacred flower of the Nile: it closes at night and opens again every morning, a symbol of renewal. Every Nilyda ritual ends the same way.
